College and Career Specialists are located at each of the five high schools in the Paradise Valley Unified School District. They can help with concerns about FAFSA, scholarships, applying to college, and more.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Logging in to SchooLinks: 
 

All students should go to auth.pvschools.net. Click on the Clever app. Log in using Active Directory. Once on Clever, scroll down to the SchooLinks App. 

Parent/Guardian Access to SchooLinks: 
 

Parents will be provided access to SchooLinks with the emails provided during the Annual Update (Electronic Emergency Card). Please make sure this information is correct so you can receive access. 

SchooLinks Letter of Recommendation Request: 
 

Make sure you check your college applications to see who they want Letters of Recommendation from. It's always best practice to meet with your recommender face-to-face and to thank them after. When you are applying to Common App schools, a Counselor Letter of Recommendation is almost always required and automatically requested, so do not request it from them as a teacher. Please speak with your Counselor directly for any information they may need to write your lette

Common Application Matching: 
 

If you are using the Common App to apply for colleges, you will need to match your account with SchooLinks so your Counselor and Teachers are able to send over information. 

Transcript Request: 

In order for Shadow Mountain to release your transcripts to various schools, scholarship organizations, and athletic programs, there are certain steps you need to follow. 

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

This is an application for current and prospective college students to complete in order to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. If FAFSA qualifies a student for federal grants, loans, or a work-study programs, the money is disbursed directly to the college of your choice. The grant or loan money received by the school will be applied towards the student's tuition, fees, room and board (for students living on campus). FAFSA is good for one academic school year and will need to be filled out each academic year the student is attending college.

College Essay Resources

Students applying to college may have to submit an essay as part of the admission process. The purpose of the essay is for the institution to gain more insight about the student than just their test scores, transcripts, and letters of recommendation. The student is able to share their personal views of the themselves and of the world to see if the student would be good fit their campus.

Career Information

For students that have acquired a certain set of skills in that fall in the trade fields will still need the education and experience. Students have the option to go to trades schools that provide tools for students gain mastery level of their trades area.

Scholarships

Students have the opportunity to apply to a wide variety of scholarships. Scholarships are an award of financial aid that applies for student to further their education. A scholarship is awarded depending on the criteria of the award, which reflect the values and purposes of the award donor/founder. The repayment of scholarship money is not required.
