This introductory course cultivates a strong foundation for a lasting career and love for the arts. Students explore art history and the elements and principles of design while experimenting with a wide variety of mediums including, ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, 3D printing and photography.

This course offers students the opportunity to further explore two-dimensional design. Students refine their skills in a variety of mediums including: painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, web design, graphic design, and photography. 

This course concentrates on the the study of three-dimensional design and the variety of materials artists use to create sculpture. Students have the opportunity to create in clay, wood, wire, glass, metal and 3D printing. Training with the various tools used to shape each medium help students broaden abilities and refine individual styles. Problem solving and artistic development occur as students plan, revise and reflect on their process. A deeper understanding of sculpture is gained by analyzing 3D works from various time periods and cultures.

This advanced course is designed for self-motivated and dedicated students who want to create a unified body of 2D work. Areas of study may include painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, web design, graphic design, or photography. The artist uses their studio time to refine personal style and create an artist statement for exhibitions of artwork.

Students further explore the concepts of sculpture as they create 3D works of art with clay, wood, wire, glass, metal and 3D printing. This course is dedicated to building upon the students established foundation of knowledge and skill as it pertains to tools, materials and processes. Students begin to narrow their scope with the goal of creating a unified body of work.

The focus and objective of the exit portfolio shows the artist has explored a theme with multiple pieces and the student has focused a majority of the artwork from one medium: painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, photographic processes.
