Welcome to the Home of the Matadors!

Shadow Mountain High School has a proud tradition of athletic excellence. Students gain many valued benefits when participating in a sport. Sports builds teamwork and leadership skills that are required for working in the real-world. Students will learn to manage time efficiently balancing schoolwork and practices. Sports promote sportsmanship, commitment, physical activity, and friendships that last a life-time creating a well-rounded education.

Athletics Mission Statement

Shadow Mountain High School's (SMHS) mission is to develop and advance the minds and character of our athletes. The focus and driving purpose of SMHS athletic program is to practice and to perfect the virtue of every student athlete. We strive to instill ennoblement qualities on the field/court/ or venue of competition to all aspiring athletes, competitors, and spectators alike to be strong in mind, body, and community.

Athletics Vision Statement

Shadow Mountain High School believes that a strong athletics program is vital and serves to produce well-rounded educational development for our students. Shadow's athletics plan will provide students with a variety of experiences that will aid in the development of responsible habits and positive attitudes that prepare them for the real world. Athletics acts and functions as an essential part of our schools whole curriculum. Athletics gives students the opportunity to represent our school, assisting in the development fellowship, sportsmanship, and promoting self-realization for the complete Shadow Mountain experience.

Want to Be a Volunteer Coach?

Athletic volunteers perform an invaluable service, providing for the safety of the students attending events and on field trips. Any individual is eligible to become a volunteer coach once cleared through state-mandated background screening. Potential candidates must be fingerprinted and agree to the background check. To become a PVSchools Volunteer, go through the following steps:

  2. Read the Job Description.
  3. Click on "Apply Online."
  4. Create a login and password.
