Shadow Mountain has a wide selection of the clubs giving students options to get involved in. Students involved with clubs will have the opportunity to discover new interest, while meeting new people, further enhancing their educational experiences in high school.

There are three different types of clubs at Shadow: class-related, honorary, and open. Scroll through the names of our clubs, click the club's name and a box will open up with a description and contact information for each club.

Class-Related Clubs

To participate in a class-related club, you must be or have been in enrolled in the course of the club depending on the club rules.

About Our Club

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) goal is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.

This club is full of students who have taken early childhood education classes and beyond. Our FCCLA members work to become better leaders and stronger members of the community. We have collaborated Child Help, Super Kids-Super Sharing to help create a better community. We use the skills we learn in tons of fun, and exciting leadership conferences, to compete against other FCCLA chapters around the state and the country. If you are interested in joining our FCCLA family, come see Mrs. Aroyian in room 414.

Yearbook

About Our Club

Those who wish to participate in the creation of our Shadow Mountain yearbook will discover great opportunities to meet new friends, and cover a multitude of events throughout the course of the year, such as dances, athletic games and fundraisers. After being trained on utilizing specialized yearbook computer software, students are partnered up to design pages that incorporate text and photography. Work can be completed both in school and from home. Yearbook club members also assist with other related tasks including selling yearbooks, photography, and eventually yearbook distribution to the student body. Students are expected to work behind the scenes capturing moments, quotes, and lasting memories. We work diligently to fully cover all school related events and activities.

Honorary Clubs

To participate in an honorary club, the student has to meet the club requirements and/or be formally invited.

International Thespian Society

About Our Club

International Thespian Society (ITS) is an honorary society composed of the most dedicated technicians and actors. The thespians take leadership roles in the drama club and the school main stage play and musical productions. Membership in Shadow Mountain's ITS troupe #1192 is by invitation only.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students.More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Spanish Honor Society

About Our Club

The Spanish Honor Society (SHS) is a group of dedicated students and faculty interested in the Spanish language, Spanish culture, and community service. We welcome students who have shown their dedication to the Spanish language through academic excellence and pursuit of extra opportunities to use the language. SHS members enjoy many diverse opportunities to immerse themselves into Hispanic culture, such as attending cultural celebrations, parades, eating food from many different Hispanic regions and becoming closer as a group and a club through these activities.

SHS is open to students currently enrolled in a Spanish class that have earned a B grade or higher. If you have any questions about how to join, please talk to Sra. Packard in room 129. We would love for any student interested in the Spanish language or Hispanic culture to come join us!

About Our Club

If you crave adventure, are looking for a fun time, or just want to laugh, the D&D Club is the place for you! Through improv, creativity, world building, and charater development, members will have a chance to socialize with like-minded peers in a team-building environment. Rookie adventurers and skilled heroes alike are welcome.

We meet after school on Wed (2:15-3:45) and Thurs at lunch.

About Our Club

Adams Family Cast SMHS

The Drama Club is for students who want to be a part of the play and musical productions at Shadow Mountain. Students work backstage in set construction, lighting, sound, costumes, props, and ushering, and onstage as actors, singers, and dancers. In addition, drama club members participate in social events, field trips, and other after school activities such as homecoming and end of the year banquet. Drama club members have the opportunity to gain points to join the honorary International Thespian Society.

Peer Mediation

About Our Club

This club is open to both boys and girls looking to help resolve conflict on campus. Participants are trained in peer mediation techniques. Mediations are always done in pairs during the school day as needed. A typical mediation consists of two mediators and two disputants.

Meetings are biweekly in the Guidance Office during lunch.
